Presented by 3mFM, Inverloch Lions & Bass Coast Shire Council

8th January 2022. Karavana Flamenca, Doc White & Beggs 2 Differ.

Doc White plays country blues like the devil (who was an early fan) and is one of the few modern blues artists to adopt the mandolin, despite it being an instrument that is nearly impossible to tune.  Doc has appeared at major festivals and tours Australia solo with his band Gentleman’s Ruin. Doc’s music has been played on ABC Radio and he has been featured on The Planet and in Rhythms Magazine. Doc’s tune ‘Cropduster Blues’ was voted Song of the Year 2004 by the Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society. Website | Facebook

Beggs 2 Differ is a Gippsland based group with a diverse range of musical styles playing guitar, piano, violin, mandolin, harmonica and tin whistle with links to Folk, Rock & Roll and Country. Philip Beggs is a passionate song writer. In 2000 he won the ‘Lawson Patterson Songwriting Award’ for the best song at the prestigious Port Fairy Folk Festival. John Rees is best known for his bass playing in the band “Men at Work”. In b2d the Grammy Award winning John Rees also gets to play another of his loves the violin / fiddle. Diana Rees is a classically trained concert pianist but with a love for the contemporary. Her individualistic playing style is sure to impress and please. Terry Lay has been singing and performing for 30 years but is probably more recently known for his portrayals in musical theatre. His lead and backing vocals style perfectly compliments the band’s acoustic expression. With a mix of poignant and lively covers and original songs, the band’s rich harmonies and encouraged audience participation have been loved by audiences throughout Gippsland and Melbourne for over 12 years. Professional Moose: A band of two fifteen year old, textbook slammin’ punk rockers, from round Wonthaggi. Their inspiration comes from the past hero’s and heroine’s of rock and roll. Their sound is heavily influenced by bands of the 90’s such as Alice in Chains and Soundgarden, and Horror/Classic films from the 80’s such as The Shining and Scarface. abc.net.au/triplejunearthed/artist/professional-moose

Hall Jam: Robin Lowe Music on Facebook, YouTube & Triple J Unearthed. Robin has been drumming on inanimate objects for as long as he can remember. He finally managed to get himself a drum kit when he convinced his partner that electronic drums were really quiet if plugged into headphones. Robin soon began collaborating with other musicians and played drums in a band called JAMBO which he formed with a some of his Paramedic workmates. He went on to acquired an acoustic drum kit and various other percussion instruments and played with various other musicians and bands. Music for Robin has primarily been a hobby. He works full time as a Paramedic and also runs a business associated with recreational aircraft and the provision of aerial drone services. In recent times Robin decided to try his hand at singing and songwriting which is something he’d put off doing for many years. Robin has finally released his debut single ‘Did You Live A Good Life’ (DYLAGL).
