The Fixit Cafe aims to help people have their goods repaired and prevent them from going to landfill.
Volunteers spend approximately 30 minutes on an article.
Bookings with the Wonthaggi Neighbourhood Centre are essential to ensure an appropriate fixer is on hand and an appointment time agreed.
Tea, coffee and cakes are available and visitors are encouraged to stay to socialise and check out the service.
Only articles which can be carried are fixed and usually nothing can be left at the Centre for fixing another time.
New volunteers are always welcome even if they can only spare a short time.
Articles which are brought to the Cafe include gardening tools, knives, musical boxes, lamps, CD players, to name but a few!
