Korumburra: Meetings/Chats are held in the Korumburra Indoor Recreation Centre Sports Lane via King Street, at 2.00pm on the first Tuesday of the month. Leongatha: Meetings are at the Leongatha RSL on the first Monday of the month at 6.00pm. Cost is a Gold Coin donation.

Finding a local Cancer support group has just got easier. More than 120 cancer support groups meet regularly across Victoria. Relaxed and informal – and outside of the hospital setting, they’re run by people with a firsthand experience of cancer under the guidance of Cancer Council Victoria.

The Corinella Support Group meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 10.00am – 12.00 noon, at the Corinella Community Centre, Smythe street, Corinella. Cost $2.

The Inverloch and District Autism Spectrum support group meet on the first Wednesday of every month, during school term, at the Inverloch Hub (large meeting room that opens out to the playground) 16 Abeckett St., Inverloch from 10.30am-12.30pm. All are welcome so come and join us for a chat and a cuppa, while the kids play in the playground. Tea and coffee provided at no cost. If you are caring for someone with a mental illness, it can be a stressful, lonely and difficult experience. This support group enables people who are caring for someone with a mental illness, that they are not alone, and in the company of other carers where they can find support, friendship, and at times, a laugh! We meet at the Bass Coast Community Health building, next door to the supermarket in Reilly Street, Inverloch, at 10.00am on the 2nd Monday of every month, except January and June – and a couple of ‘odd’ Mondays when we meet on the Wednesday at a bakery.
Parents & carers of kids with disability are all welcome to join us at South Gippsland Specialist School 13 Horn Street Leongatha. Come along for a cuppa & chat. Coffee & tea provided. Free event.

Meets at the Maffra Hospital 48 Kent Street in the Community Meeting Room from 1.00 pm – 3.00 pm. Bring a plate to share. Gippsland Carers free service includes Information, Support, Advocacy, links to services and a sympathetic, non-judgemental ear for carers of family or friends. Our drop in centre – Carers Place, 185 Commercial Road Morwell is open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9am until 3pm.
Lorraine, our Carer Mentor is also available to come to you if you are unable to come to our office. Support groups are run across Gippsland and we can put you in contact with one near you. Carer support group in Morwell meets from 10 am till 12 on the first Wednesday of each month except January, at the ‘Rose Garden room’.

The Latrobe Region Parent/Family Support group for those who have kids with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). SUPPAUT meets at the Latrobe Special Development School, Hickox Street, Traralgon (enter at first gate and sign in at office). The group is a parent run group that aims to support one another as parents of a child/children with Autism (or Asperger’s, PDD or other autism-related conditions). They meet every last Thursday of the month except School/Public Holidays, from 10.30am-12.30pm. So come along for a cuppa and a chat.
